TBC Announces Nationwide Retail Campaign to Raise Awareness
February is American Heart Month and TBC Corporation (TBC) has announced Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, Brian Maciak, was named 2023 Chair of the American Heart Association’s Palm Beach County Heart Walk. In support of this collaboration, Tire Kingdom and NTB Tire & Service Centers, TBC’s well-known retail brands, are partnering with the Association to raise funds and awareness as part of the “Life is Why” campaign and to donate 100 infant CPR kits to Palm Beach County organizations.
Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death worldwide. As champions for health equity, the American Heart Association is advancing cardiovascular health for all, including identifying and removing barriers to healthcare access and quality. Everyone has a reason to live more of life’s greatest moments. The “Life is Why” campaign will invite customers to ask, “What is My Why?” and provide donations to make a lasting impact.
“Cardiac arrest occurs in over 350,000 people each year, and it’s largely preventable,” Maciak said. “TBC believes that raising awareness on how hands can not only fix cars but can also save lives through CPR is essential in cardiac arrest prevention.”
From June 1 through July 15, TBC will provide customers and followers with the opportunity to donate to the American Heart Association through a multipronged approach of e-commerce, in-store, CRM and social media with the goal of raising $250,000. Donations through TBC’s “Life is Why” campaign – no matter the amount – allow the Association to:
- Fund research that can improve the health outcomes of heart and stroke patients;
- Train more than 2.5 million high school students in CPR annually; and
- Support the work of those working to improve health outcomes in under-resourced communities.
For over 10 years, TBC Corporation and its subsidiaries have partnered with the American Heart Association. In 2016, former TBC CEO, Erik Olsen, led the Palm Beach County Heart Walk campaign which raised $1.1M for the mission, the most funds raised in Palm Beach County Heart Walk history.
Throughout the past decade, several TBC executives including Maciak and Olsen have also sat on the Heart Walk Executive Leadership Cabinet.
“TBC is honored to continue our longstanding relationship with the American Heart Association and the Palm County Heart Walk to increase awareness and raise funds to support keeping hearts beating,” Maciak added.
An integral part of TBC and all business units spanning retail, franchise, wholesale, and logistics is corporate social responsibility (CSR). The company has initiatives that are driven by the company as well as initiatives that are associate-driven, all communicated to associates via a formalized program called TBC Driven To Give (#TBCDrivenToGive).
