PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – OCTOBER 27, 2022 – National Tire Wholesale (NTW) and TBC Brands, distributors in the automotive aftermarket space and subsidiaries of TBC Corporation, worked alongside United Way to provide hygiene kits to their local communities for Make a Difference Day, recognized on October 22. USA Weekend magazine established this annual initiative in 1992 to offer community support and encourage volunteerism around the country.
Across the nation, associates from NTW, TBC Brands, and United Way took action on Friday, October 21 to drive change and help improve the lives of those in their local communities. Associates of NTW and TBC Brands in 114 distribution centers assembled 5,700 hygiene kits. The kits were packed with essentials like shampoo, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, and more. In addition, associates signed notes of encouragement for those receiving the kits which were distributed by their United Way partners nationwide on Make a Difference Day.
“TBC is pleased to further develop its partnership with the United Way by providing associates the opportunity to engage more deeply in their communities,” said Scott Clark, Senior Vice President of Logistics & Supply Chain for TBC Corporation. “This initiative speaks directly to our values as we believe in making a difference and look for ways to improve people’s lives and make a lasting impact in the communities where we live and work.”
An integral part of TBC and its business units spanning retail, franchise, wholesale, and distribution is corporate social responsibility (CSR). In fact, one of the company’s core values focuses on it — leave everything better. TBC and its associates collectively and individually drive initiatives formalized through a program called TBC Driven To Give (#TBCDrivenToGive).
Since its inception in 2018, NTW has proudly supported the United Way of Palm Beach County. Together the organizations have worked to unite TBC associates nationwide with their local United Way partners to build stronger communities.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with TBC and over 100 local United Ways across the nation to deliver on this Make a Difference volunteer event,” said Dr. Laurie George, President and CEO of United Way of Palm Beach County. “This collaboration shows the power of shared values for a better community coming together.”
