PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (July 31, 2024) — TBC Corporation (“TBC”), a leader in the mobility industry and one of North America’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires through wholesale and franchise operations, today announced that Marilyn Spunar has been appointed as the incoming chief financial officer. Spunar will officially assume the role of chief financial officer on Oct. 1, upon Scott Hurd’s retirement, as he concludes an illustrious career in finance and leadership roles. Spunar will oversee the company’s financial operations and report directly to TBC Corporation’s President & CEO Don Byrd.
Spunar brings nearly 30 years of financial, strategic planning and implementation, and revenue analysis leadership to TBC. She spent the last 26 years at Carrier Corporation, where she held various executive roles, most recently serving as vice president, supply chain. Prior to the supply chain role, Marilyn was instrumental in creating an efficient financial planning and analysis (FP&A) department focused on growth and transparent reporting as Carrier transitioned from part of the United Technologies conglomerate into Carrier as an independent company. She also held chief financial officer positions for Carrier’s refrigeration division and at Otis Americas.

Spunar has a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
